Hello, my name is Alison Gusew!
I'm a creative and silly introvert who is just trying to make the world a little brighter. I love exploring my creativity and I'm always looking for new ways to create. I have explored several different types of carriers since graduating with a degree in Art Education. I did custom framing for five years and moved to cake decorating that I did for two years. Each job came with its own challenges and skills that I find useful everyday.
As an artist I’m always looking for inspiration in the world around me. I do my best to use this inspiration to create my art. This is why I feel I don’t have one area of expertise; I work in all sorts of mediums: acrylic and watercolor paint, fiber and 3-dimesnioal art. But often it’s acrylics I use the most. Working across different mediums is fascinating for me due to how it changes the creative process. Each project comes with challenges that need overcome to create a finished work.
When not working or creating I enjoy spending my time at home with my cat Oliver. I often find myself wrapped in either a book or TV shows/Movies. I love story telling and all the different worlds that you can take your imagination to escape the mundane of the ordinary world.
